National Review of Gender Statistics in Egypt
As part of the Government of Egypt’s development of the National Strategy for the Development of Statistics, a national review of gender statistics in Egypt was carried out. The report of the National Review of Gender Statistics subsequently examines three key components of gender statistics in Egypt: creating an environment that enables data collection, improving data production, and enhancing accessibility and usage. It is envisioned that the findings of the report will help in the Government’s on-going prioritization and production of accurate and comparable data for both women and men, girls and boys, enabling proper measurement and monitoring of progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the National Strategy for the Empowerment of Egyptian Women.
This report was developed through a partnership with the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), the National Council for Women (NCW), UN Women Egypt and Statistics Partnership for Development in the Twenty-first Century “Paris21”.
